Art in public spaces in this city is provided by the Center for Visual Arts Rotterdam (CBK). They have put us in touch with versatile artist Herman Lamers. He examines the function and meaning of sculptures in a social context. In his work, abstract and realistic, poetic and concrete sculpture elements are added to architecture and/or space. The lively and alienating sculpture you see here shows a nice contrast with the classical sculptures from Boijmans.
