Children and the Rotterdam Rooftop Walk

Is the Rotterdam Rooftop Walk fun for children?

That depends entirely on the child you want to bring. There is plenty to see on the rooftops, but there are no interactive installations or activities especially for children. Some children will find the footbridge at a height of 30 metres too scary, while others will find it easy to handle. We leave this to the parents and supervisors to decide.

My child is aged 15 or younger and has free access. How does this work exactly?

Buy a ticket for the rate ‘1 Adult + 1 Child’ for € 3.50. You will receive two tickets in your inbox, one for the adult and one for the child. Let the ticket inspector at the door scan both tickets.

Are all children allowed?

In principle, all children are allowed to visit, as long as they are accompanied by at least one adult. Some children may be afraid to cross the bridge and others may not – that assessment is up to the adult supervisor.

Can I take a pram or pushchair on the Rooftop Walk?

No large objects are allowed, as this would be very impractical due to the 400 steps involved. There is no lift. You may carry a baby in a baby sling or something similar, but this is your own responsibility and at your own risk.

Can I take more than one child with me?

Each child must have at least one adult accompanying them. If you want to come with six children, you also have to bring six adults. In this example, you have to buy 6 tickets with the ‘1 Adult + 1 Child’ rate and you will automatically receive 12 tickets in your inbox.
